Ross joined PGIR in 2014 to take up the role of support analyst providing coding reports to the senior team.
Starting his performance analysis career with an internship at Saracens in 2012 Ross then created and headed up the talent identification and recruitment department for Saracens across all levels. Designing the analysis structure and implementing Saracens methodology to the project it successfully identified a number of key players still at the club contributing to their current success.
From the 2014/15 season with PGIR Ross analysed all senior players in the wider Elite Player Squad to send individual codes and reports to the senior analysts. Also contributing to the England pathway analysis at the Wellington festival Ross developed both his analysis skills under pressure as well as the presentation of the reports to senior coaches.
Ross has now taken up the rugby analysis role on our BT Sport contract where he sits in house with the BT team and provides technical and analytical insight for both the producers and the pundits. Some of his main duties are to complete detailed post and pre match reports to help increase the knowledge of the BT team and scope their conversations on screen. He also developed a live coding structure to work onsite at Premiership and European games to contribute key insights into the data of the games and they are displayed with specially created graphics during the games.”
